Five Signal The Light Basketball Southern California ranked teams will be in action today as the Alvin Hunter Classic hosted by San Bernardino Valley College gets started today at 1pm. In first round action, 2nd ranked West Los Angeles (2-0) will take on Copper Mountain (1-2). The Wildcats are coming off two wins last weekend over Los Angeles Pierce and a win over San Bernardino. Meanwhile, Copper Mountain suffered a loss against San Diego and after beating Golden West, the Fighting Cacti were surprised by Orange Coast.

In other first round action 15th ranked Santa Monica (1-1) will face off against Compton (2-0). The Tartars come into the tournament winners of two straight as Compton has beat Grossmont and Victor Valley but will be challenged today as they will face the 15th ranked Corsairs. Santa Monica picked up a one point win over Cypress but took a loss against Fullerton at home last week.

In other games 4th ranked East Los Angeles (2-1) will look to get back on track as the Huskies will take on Moorpark. The Huskies won two games last weekend but were blown out by San Francisco in Northern California in their last outing. As for Moorpark (1-2), the Raiders will look to upset the Huskies in first round action.

In the first round finale, 8th ranked San Bernardino (0-2) will look for their first win of the season as they will take on another ranked opponent facing 9th ranked Saddleback (1-0). The Wolverines lost to Fullerton and West Los Angeles and San Bernardino will face their third ranked opponent in three games. As for Saddleback the Bobcats opened the season up earlier this week with a win over Southwestern.
