Grossmont Tournament – El Cajon, CA

In the championship game of the Grossmont Invitational, Jonathan Ogugua had 27 points and 5 rebounds and Drew Cisse added 11 points and 9 rebounds as 4th ranked San Diego (7-2) handed West Valley (9-1) their first loss of the season knocking off our Norcal number one team 64-63 in the championship game of the tournament. Ben Baker had 15 points and 12 rebounds and Adam Afifi added 14 points in the loss for the Vikings.

In the 3rd place game of the tournament, Chad Robinson scored 33 points and Andre Milot added 18 points as Palomar (7-3) picked up a 103-96 in a classic four overtime game over Grossmont (2-7). Nick Mason had 26 points an 9 rebounds and Alex Dumas added 24 points in the loss for the Griffin.

In other action, Jimuel Reyes scored 17 points as Saddleback (5-3) edged Cuesta 57-48 to bring home the consolation championship title. Juani Dassie had 13 points and 5 rebounds and Isaac Puzz added 11 points in the loss for Cuesta (3-6).

In the 7th place game of the tournament, Domineque Johnson had 23 points and 17 rebounds and Larry Hemingway added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists as Palo Verde (6-5) edged Los Angeles Trade Tech 80-77. Dahmaj Warren and X’zaiver Maddox each had 19 points in the loss for Los Angeles Trade Tech (1-9).

Greg Anderson Memorial Tournament – Lancaster, CA

2nd ranked Ventura (9-0) picked up their ninth straight victory and the tournament championship with a 81-66 win over 15th ranked Cerro Coso (7-2). Adrian McIntyre had 33 points and 9 rebounds and Anthony McIntyre added 19 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the Pirates in the win. Daron Hall had 21 points and Nathaniel Jackson added 17 points in the loss for the Coyotes.

In the third place game, Jonathan Daniels had 14 points and 9 rebounds and Virgil Mahoney added 13 points and 9 rebounds as tournament host Antelope Valley (5-4) used a late 2nd half surge to get by MiraCosta 70-59. Lamont Couch Jr had 14 points and Patrick McLachlan added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for MiraCosta (3-7).

In other action at the tournament, Joel Finney had 14 points and Christian Finney added 12 points and 15 rebounds as Glendale (7-5) slipped past Rio Hondo 68-62. Chris Herrera had 21 points and 5 rebounds and Sebastian Lara added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for Rio Hondo (1-10).

In the first game of the day, Zion White had 17 points and 6 rebounds and Danile Boatwright added 13 points in the win over the Antelope Valley JV for Los Angeles Pierce (6-5).

Saltwater Classic – Aptos, CA

In the championship game, Deshawn Bartley had 27 points and Tahj-Malik Campbell added 16 points as 3rd ranked Columbia (10-0) won their 10th straight game with a 96-67 crushing of Butte (6-4). Derrek Gordon and Rolontae Knowles each had 12 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

In the third place game of the tournament, 6th ranked San Mateo (9-2) got back on track with 91-67 victory over Folsom Lake (3-5). Pierce Rexford had 24 points and Dane Johnson added 19 points in the loss for the Falcons.

The other two games that were on the schedule were postponed earlier today as De Anza, Merced, Merritt and Cabrillo did not play today.
