Fullerton back at top spot moving into week 7

Week 7 Regular Season Southern California Signal The Light Basketball Rankings

  1. Fullerton (12-1): The Hornets move back into the top spot in the rankings following a 2-0 week. Fullerton picked up wins over Santa Ana and slipped past Irvine Valley in Orange Empire Conference action. The Hornets have won four straight games and have put together a 6-1 record against teams that have a winning record and have a 6-1 record against teams that are ranked within our week 7 STLB rankings. This week, the Hornets are off and will return to action on December 30th when Fullerton will face 4th ranked Ventura at home.

2. San Bernardino (9-3): The Wolverines move up one spot in the rankings following a win last week. San Bernardino picked up an 87-54 win over Chaffey in their lone game of the week. San Bernardino has won nine of their last ten games and have posted a 6-3 record against teams that have a winning record. The Wolverines are 5-3 against teams that are ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball rankings. This week, the Wolverines are off and return to action on December 30th when San Bernardino will take on Los Angeles Pierce on the road.

3. Santiago Canyon (12-1): The Hawks jump up one spot in the rankings after posting two wins last week. Santiago Canyon picked up wins over Orange Coast and Cypress last week and have won nine straight games. The Hawks are are 6-0 against teams that have winning records and have posted a 3-0 record against teams that are ranked within our week 7 rankings. This week, the Hawks are off and return to action on December 30th when Santiago Canyon host Cerritos in their last game of 2021.

4. Ventura (12-2): The Pirates had a rough weekend in Northern California and move down three spots after suffering two losses. Ventura went 0-2 and lost to the number 2 and 3 teams in Northern California as the Pirates dropped to Columbia and Sequoias in central California last week. The Pirates are 7-2 against teams with winning records and have posted a 3-2 record against teams that are ranked within our STLB week 7 rankings. This week, the Pirates are off but Ventura will take on top ranked Fullerton on the road on December 30th as they end their tough stretch of games against top teams in the state.

5. San Diego (11-3): The Knights remain put in the rankings after posting two wins last week. San Diego started off conference action with two wins as the Knights cruised past Cuyamaca and San Diego Mesa last week to win their second straight game. The Knights have won seven of their last eight and are 5-3 against teams that have a winning record. San Diego is 3-2 against teams that are ranked within our STLB week 7 rankings. The Knights are off this week and will return to action on January 5th when San Diego will face Southwestern on the road.

6. West Los Angeles (9-3): The Wildcats remain put in the rankings after not having a game last week. West Los Angeles had a scheduled game but it was cancelled against Copper Mountain. This season the Wildcats are 3-3 against teams that have a winning record and West Los Angeles is 2-3 against teams that are ranked within our STLB rankings for week 7. This week, the Wildcats are off and West Los Angeles will take on San Diego Miramar on December 28th at home.

7. Los Angeles Southwest (10-3): The Cougars move up one spot in the rankings due to a shake up above them. Los Angeles Southwest did not have a game but have posted a 2-3 record against winning teams and have a 1-2 record against teams that are ranked inside of our week 7 rankings. This week, the Cougars are off but return to action on January 30th when LA Southwest will travel to Mt. San Jacinto and face the Eagles for their last game of 2021.

8. Los Angeles Harbor (8-1): The Seahawks move up one spot after picking up a win and shake ups above them in the rankings. Los Angeles Harbor picked up a home win over San Diego Miramar 61-51 in their lone game of the week. The Seahawks have posted a 4-1 record against teams that have a winning record and have put together a 2-1 record against teams ranked within our STLB week 7 rankings. This week, the Seahawks will be in action twice as Los Angeles Harbor will face Antelope Valley on the road tonight and follow that up with another road game against Grossmont on Wednesday.

9. Citrus (9-4): The Owls move up two spots in the rankings following two wins last week. Citrus picked up a huge overtime win over East Los Angeles and followed that up with an easy win over Los Angeles Pierce. Citrus has won three of their last four games and have a 4-4 record against teams that have a winning record this season. The Owls are 2-4 against teams ranked within our rankings. This week, the Owls are off but Citrus return to action on December 30th when they face El Camino on the road in their last game of 2021.

10. East Los Angeles (9-4): The Huskies drop three spots in the rankings following a 1-1 week. East Los Angeles suffered a set back against Citrus, but followed that up with a road win over Long Beach. The Huskies have lost two of their last three games and are 2-4 against teams with winning records this season. East Los Angeles is 2-4 against teams ranked within our STLB week four rankings. This week, the Huskies will be off but East Los Angeles returns to action on December 28th at the Cuyamaca Tournament where they will face Golden West.

11. Cerro Coso (11-2): The Coyotes move up three spots in the rankings following a 2-0 week. Cerro Coso has won four straight and eight of their last nine games since losing to Fullerton. The Coyotes picked up wins over Barstow and Victor Valley and have put together a 4-2 record against teams that have posted a winning record. This season the Coyotes are 0-2 against teams ranked within our week 7 STLB rankings and this week the Coyotes are off. Cerro Coso will return to the court on December 30th when the Coyotes face Santa Barbara at home.

12. Irvine Valley (7-4): The Lasers drop two spots in the rankings after going 0-1 last week in Orange Empire Conference action. Irvine Valley lost against top ranked Fullerton 60-54 in their lone game of the week. This season the Lasers are 2-3 against teams that have a winning record and have put together a 1-2 record against teams that are ranked within our STLB rankings. This week, the Lasers are in action twice as Irvine Valley will face 13th ranked Riverside on Tuesday and follow that up with a road game against Los Angeles Valley on Thursday.

13. Riverside (9-4): The Tigers move up two spots in the rankings after posting two wins last week. Riverside has now won five games in a row after picking up wins over Golden West and Santa Ana and moving to 2-0 in Orange Empire Conference play. This season the Tigers are 1-3 against teams that have a winning record and Riverside is 1-3 against teams ranked within our week 7 rankings. This week, Riverside will face 12th ranked Irvine Valley on the road for their lone game of the week.

14. Saddleback (9-4): The Bobcats re enter our rankings and come in at number fourteen this week. Saddleback picked up wins against Cypress and Golden West and the Bobcats have now won six of their last seven games. The Bobcats have a 1-3 record against teams that have a winning record and have a 0-3 record against teams that are ranked within our week 7 rankings. This week, the Bobcats will be in action one time as Saddleback will face Victor Valley on the road on Tuesday for their lone game of the week.

15. Palomar (8-4): The Comets re enter the rankings after going 1-0 last week. Palomar picked up a huge road win over San Diego Miramar in their conference opener and have won two of their last three games. The Comets are 2-4 against teams with winning records and have put together a 1-3 record against teams that are ranked within our week 7 rankings. This week, the Comets are off but Palomar will return to action on December 28th when they face Cerritos at home.
