Sequoias takes Fullerton Tournament championship back home to Visalia

Fullerton Tournament – Fullerton, CA

5th ranked College of The Sequoias (8-2) used a big second half run to pick up a 83-65 win over 3rd ranked San Diego (9-3) in the championship game of the Fullerton Tournament. Conner Jackson had 22 points and Scott Ator added 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Giants in the win. Sequoias the lone team from Northern California in the tournament picked up wins against West Los Angeles, Los Angeles Southwest and San Diego to bring home the championship. Jonathan Ogugua had 16 points and Jackson Larsen added 14 points in the loss for the Knights.

In the 3rd place game, Richard McMichael made 12 three pointers and scored 40 points and Brandon Fredrick added 18 points and 6 assists as 11th ranked Los Angeles Southwest (11-3) slipped past unranked Chaffey 88-85 to bring home 3rd place. Eulysses Foston had 22 points and made four three pointers and Chijindu Egeonu added 18 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for Chaffey (4-7).

In the consolation final, Kobe Newton and Gaven Ramirez each had 14 points as top ranked Fullerton (10-1) won their last two games of the tournament and edged 9th ranked Citrus 67-64 to bring home the consolation title. Chris Harper had 17 points and Chris Chiles added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for Citrus (7-4).

In the 7th place game, Dyllan Young had 14 points and Benjamin Ramirez added 11 points as 4th ranked West Los Angeles (9-3) picked up a final day victory over Southwestern 65-54. Paris Smith had 11 points for Southwestern (3-9) in the loss for the Jaguars.

AHF Tournament – Riverside, CA

In the first game of the final day of the tournament, Nick Bowden had 23 points and Atiba Taylor added 12 points as Saddleback (7-4) won their second game in a row with a 79-69 victory over 13th ranked Mt. San Jacinto (5-5). Anton Mozga had 21 points and Isaiah Skinner added 17 points in the loss for the Eagles.

In other action, Edwyn Collins made a late bucket and had 16 points and Robert Ayala added 18 points as Riverside (7-4) won their third straight game with a 71-70 win over 7th ranked East Los Angeles (8-3). Dezmond Washington had 16 points and Tyrelle Hunt added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Huskies.

In other final day action, Garrett Bell had 17 points and made five three pointers and Juice Belvin added 16 points as Cerritos (6-5) moved back above .500 with a 66-59 win over Copper Mountain (3-8). Mikah Blackwell had 25 points and 10 rebounds and Travion Jackson added 22 points in the loss.

Santa Barbara Tournament – Santa Barbara, CA

Anthony McIntyre had 20 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists and Adrian McIntyre added 19 points as 2nd ranked Ventura (12-0) brought home the Santa Barbara Tournament championship with a 93-71 win over Desert (2-8). The Pirates used a big second half to pull away from the Roadrunners on Saturday evening. Marquis McKinzey had 18 points and D’Shaun Barrett added 13 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

In the 3rd place game, Sean Fry had 14 points and Rahmel Davis added 13 points and 11 rebounds as Bakersfield (7-4) edged Los Angeles Valley 62-59. Manny Kapoushian had 17 points and Leandre Mcintyre Jr. added 11 points in the loss for Los Angeles Valley (1-10).

In the consolation final, Kameron Mayhan had 19 points and 11 rebounds and Bonard Johnson added 16 points as Long Beach (7-6) picked up a 80-78 win over tournament host Santa Barbara (5-10). Elijah Simpson had 23 points and Adam Weingard added 18 points in the loss for the Vaqueros.

In the 7th place game, Chrys Jackson went off for 27 points, 10 assists and 7 rebounds and Aries Vega added 22 points and 11 rebounds as Oxnard (4-6) cruised past Pasadena 95-76 on Saturday afternoon. Jordan Flowers had 20 points and Brandon Torimaru added 13 points in the loss for Pasadena (0-13).

Modesto Tournament – Modesto, CA

In final day action in the Central Valley, tournament MVP Parker Hunt had 20 points, 16 rebounds and 6 blokcs and Jayden Madise added 12 points as 14th ranked Monterey (10-2) continued their hot start with a 63-51 win over Lassen (1-13). Darien Guyton and Shelton Taylor each had 11 points in the loss for the Cougars.

In other action, Fredery Cuello had 29 points and Jabari Merritt added 12 points and 11 rebounds as West Hills Coalinga (4-7) picked up a 77-62 victory over tournament host Modesto (2-8). Jacob Staton had 19 points for the Pirates in the loss.

San Bruno, CA – Siskiyous 64 Skyline 57

Zane Lueth had 19 points and Kody Bauman added 18 points as Siskiyous (6-8) picked up a huge road win over Skyline 64-57. Dominic Wilson had 13 points and Julius Alcantara added 10 points in theloss for Skyline (6-4) which lost for the third time in a row.

Fresno, CA – Fresno 81 Cuesta 67

Asrin Hackett had 17 points and Grimmett Glen added 14 points as Fresno (5-5) evened out their record with a 81-67 win over Cuesta (3-8).

Santa Maria, CA – Allan Hancock 84 Santa Monica 79

Matt Solomon had 15 points and Shawn Kelly added 11 points and 11 rebounds as Allan Hancock (6-4) slipped past Santa Monica 84-79 on Saturday evening. Cam Cohn had 15 points and Alex Villi added 11 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for Santa Monica (4-8).

Santa Rosa, CA – Santa Rosa 58 Shasta 54

In a battle of two Northern California teams, Santa Rosa (4-5) edged Shasta 58-54 on Saturday evening. Simer Singh had 13 points and Derek Gorden added 12 points in the loss for the Knights.

Saratoga, CA – (3) West Valley 96 Alameda 54

3rd ranked West Valley (10-2) picked up their 10th win of the season with a 96-54 win over Alameda (1-7).

Marysville, CA – (7) San Jose 77 (8) Yuba 72

In a battle of top 10 teams in Northern California, David Galentine had 22 points and Decaurey Brown added 21 points as 7th ranked San Jose (10-2) won their 10th game and their third straight with a big 77-72 victory on the road against 8th ranked Yuba (4-5). Jacob Henry had 16 points and RJ Smith added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the loss for the 49ers.

Woodland Hills, CA – Los Angeles Pierce 84 Grossmont 78

Zion White had 21 points and Hector Page added 16 points as Los Angeles Pierce (7-5) won their third game in a row with a 84-78 victory over Grossmont (2-8).

Andrew Henderson had 23 points and 12 rebounds and Corwin Smith added 17 points and 7 rebounds as 10th ranked Canyons (8-3) slipped past Rio Hondo 74-68. Shymar Wiggins had 18 points and Sebastian Lara added 17 points in the loss for Rio Hondo (1-13).

Sierra (6-3) won their second straight game with a 73-62 home victory over Foothill (2-8). Ausage Siamu had 16 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Owls.
