Signal The Light Basketball Week 6 Southern California Rankings December 12-18th

1. Citrus (9-2): The Owls become the top team in our week six Socal rankings after a 3-0 week. Citrus picked up wins against Los Angeles Southwest, Chaffey and San Diego and the Owls have won six straight games. Citrus is 3-2 against teams that have put together a winning record and the Owls best victory this season has come against San Diego. This week, the Owls will take on West Hills Lemoore tomorrow on the road in the Central valley.

2. Fullerton (11-1): The Hornets move up one spot in the rankings after picking up three wins last week. Fullerton picked up wins against San Diego, West Los Angeles and Chaffey last week. Fullerton is 7-1 against teams that have a winning record and their only loss has come against San Bernardino and best win this season has come against San Francisco. This upcoming week, the Hornets have the week off and will return to action on December 20th when Fullerton host Golden West in their conference opener.

3. East Los Angeles (6-2): The Huskies move up three spots in the rankings and move into the top 3. East Los Angeles picked up three wins last week as the Huskies beat Ventura, Cerritos and Riverside and have played solid basketball this season starting the season off winning six of eight so far. This season East Los Angeles has put together a 4-2 record against teams that have a winning record and the Huskies best win this season has come against San Bernardino. This upcoming week the Huskies will be in action twice as East Los Angeles will face Porterville on the road on Thursday and follow that up with a home game against 13th ranked Long Beach on Saturday.

4. San Diego Miramar (9-1): The Jets move up three spots and enter our top five after picking up a win last week. Miramar picked up a win over Orange Coast and the Jets have now won nine out of their first ten to start the season. Miramar has posted a 4-1 record against teams that have put together a winning record and the Jets best win in our eyes this season has come against Los Angeles Harbor. This upcoming week, Miramar will face San Diego Mesa on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Palomar on Friday.

5. San Bernardino (6-2): The Wolverines continue to move up in the rankings and jump four spots after picking up three wins last week. San Bernardino won the Santa Barbara Tournament picking up wins against Oxnard, Los Angeles Valley and Bakersfield and the Wolverines have won five straight games since losing to Saddleback on November 13th. This season, San Bernardino is 2-2 against teams that have a winning record and thier best win is against Fullerton this season. This upcoming week the Wolverines start up Inland Empire Conference play as they will face 15th ranked Copper Mountain on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Desert on Saturday.

6. Los Angeles Harbor (8-1): The Seahawks move up four spots in the rankings after posting a win last week. Los Angeles Harbor picked a 77-72 win over Santiago Canyon and the Seahawks have started the season off winning eight of their first nine games. The Seahwaks have a 4-1 record against teams that have a winning record and we think their best win has come against Ventura. This week, Harbor will be in action twice as the Seahawks will face Antelope Valley at home on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Santa Ana on Friday.

7. Riverside (7-3): The Tigers drop three spots in the rankings after have a 1-2 week in their tournament. Riverside handed Cerritos their first loss of the season but followed that up with back to back losses against Mt. San Jacinto and East Los Angeles. Riverside is 4-3 against teams that have a winning record and the Tigers best win have come against Citrus this season. This upcoming week, Riverside will host Mt. San Antonio on Saturday for their lone game of the week.

8. San Diego (8-3): The Knights drop three spots in the rankings following a 1-2 week at the Fullerton Tournament. San Diego suffered losses against Fullerton and Citrus but picked up a win against Los Angeles Southwest last week. This season the Knights have a 3-3 record against teams that have a winning record with their best win coming against Yuba. This upcoming week, the Knights start up Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action as San Diego will face Grossmont on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Cuyamaca on Friday.

9. Cerritos (7-3): The Falcons drop eight spot in the rankings after going 0-3 last week. Cerritos started the season off winning their first seven games and lost all three games last week at the Riverside Tournament losing to Riverside, East Los Angeles and Saddleback. This season the Falcons have had a lot of success as Cerritos has a 5-3 record against teams that have a winning record with their best win coming against Citrus. This upcoming week, the Falcons schedule does not get any easier as Cerritos travels up to Visalia and will face 5th ranked Sequoias on Friday and then face Porterville on Saturday.

10. Ventura (10-4): The Pirates move up one spot after going 2-1 last week at the Riverside Tournament. Ventura lost in overtime against East Los Angeles but picked up wins against Saddleback and Mt. San Jacinto last week. This season the Pirates have put together a 4-4 record against teams that have a winning record and Ventura has posted its biggest win against Mt. San Jacinto. This week, the Pirates will be back in action as Ventura will face Los Angeles Valley on Wednesday on the road.

11. Mt. San Jacinto (8-2): The Eagles move up four spots in the rankings after having a 2-1 week at the Riverside Tournament. Mt. San Jacinto picked up wins against Saddleback, Riverside but had a set back against Ventura. This year the Eagles are 3-1 against teams that have a winning record and their biggest win has come against Riverside this season. This upcoming week, the Eagles will host Cerro Coso on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against Victor Valley on Saturday.

12. Saddleback (7-4): The Bobcats drop four spots in the rankings after going 1-2 last week. Saddleback went 1-2 over the weekend losing to Mt. San Jacinto and Ventura but picked up a 69-59 win over Cerritos. The Bobcats have put together a 4-4 record against teams that have a winning record with their best victory coming against San Bernardino. This week Saddleback will be in action one time as the Bobcats will face Santa Monica on the road on Wednesday.

13. Long Beach (9-4): The Vikings move down a spot after going 2-1 last week at the Santa Barbara Tournament. Long Beach lost to Bakersfield but brought home the consolation championship picking up wins against Desert and Oxanrd. The Vikings are 7-1 in their last 8 outings and have a 4-3 record against teams that have a winning record. Long Beach best win in our eyes was their victory against Santiago Canyon as the Vikings will be in action twice this week. Long Beach will face Mt. San Antonio on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game against 3rd ranked East Los Angeles on Saturday.

14. Chaffey (7-3): The Panthers come into the rankings for the first time this season. Chaffey has started the season winning seven of their first ten and suffered losses last week to Fullerton and Citrus but beat West Los Angeles. This season the Panthers have a 1-3 record against teams that have a winning record and their best win has come against West Los Angeles. This week, Chaffey will start conference play as the Panthers will face Victor Valley on Wednesday at home and follow that up with a road game against Palo Verde on Saturday for their two conference games this week.

15. Copper Mountain (7-4): The Fighting Cacti come back into the rankings despite having the week off. Copper Mountain is 7-2 in their last nine games and have posted a 2-3 record against winning teams this season. The Fighting Cacti best win this season has come against Santiago Canyon and will start up conference play this week. Copper Mountain will open up conference play against 5th ranked San Bernardino on the road on Wednesday for their lone game of the week.
