Vikings remain at top spot in week 7 in Norcal

1. West Valley (14-0): The Vikings remain at the top spot in our Norcal rankings after posting a win since our last rankings were released. West Valley picked up a 74-50 win over Skyline and are the only team in the state that is undefeated after winning their first fourteen games to start the season. This season the Vikings are 7-0 against teams that have a winning record and West Valley has posted wins against Fullerton, San Diego, Chabot, and San Francisco. West Valley appears to be the team to beat throughout the whole state and this week the Vikings will be in action twice as they will face Feather River at home later today and then face off against 3rd ranked San Francisco on the road on Friday night.

2. Chabot (12-3): The Gladiators move up a spot in our week seven rankings after putting together a win since our last poll was released. Chabot knocked off Marin for their fourth straight win as the Gladiators continue to roll. This season, Chabot has a 2-3 record against teams that have a winning record and Chabot has lossed to Fullerton, San Diego and West Valley this season. This week, the Gladiators will be in action one time as Chabot will face 8th ranked San Jose on the road on Thursday evening.

3. San Francisco (12-3): The Rams move up one spot in the rankings after putting together two wins since our week 6 rankings. San Francisco picked up wins over Siskiyous and San Jose and the Rams have won six of their last seven games. This season, San Francisco has a 6-3 record against teams that have a winning record and the Rams have posted victories against San Jose, Moopark, San Bernardino and Sequoias twice this season. This week, the Rams will be in action for their last non conference game as San Francisco will host top ranked West Valley on Friday night for the second time this season.

4. Cabrillo (14-1): The Seahawks drop two spots in our rankings from our last poll after going 2-1 and suffering their first loss of the season. Cabrillo lost on the road against unranked Ohlone and followed that up with wins against Shasta and Redwoods as the Seahawks still have shown they are one of the elite teams in the state. This season the Seahawks have put together a 4-1 record against teams within our rankings and have victories over Merced and Columbia which are ranked within our rankings. This week, the Seahawks will be in action one time as Cabrillo will travel to Redwood City and face off against Canada on Friday evening.

5. Sequoias (11-2): The Giants remain put at number five in our rankings following two wins since our last poll. Sequoias picked up wins against Gavilan and on the road against Diablo Valley and the Giants have now won seven straight games since losing to San Francisco. This season the Giants have put together a 2-2 record against teams that have posted winning records and both losses this season have come against San Francisco. This week, Sequoias will have their last non conference game before conference begins as the Giants will host unranked Hartnell on Thursday.

6. Yuba (12-2): The 49ers move up one spot in the rankings after putting together two wins in Bay Valley Conference action. Yuba picked up wins against Solano and Marin and the 49ers have won six games in a row since losing to Butte on December 6th. Yuba has a 3-1 record against teams that have a winning record this season and have a victory over San Francisco. This week the 49ers will have a conference game on Friday as Yuba will face Alameda on the road.

7. Sacramento (13-1): The Panthers move up two spots in the rankings after putting together two wins in Big 8 Conference action. Sacramento picked up wins in conference action with a win over Diablo Valley and picked up a huge road win over Santa Rosa in their two games as the Panthers have won four straight games since losing to Fresno. This season the Panthers are 5-0 against teams that have a winning record but have not beat a team within our week 7 rankings. This week, Sacramento will be action one time as the Panthers will host American river on Friday for their lone game of the week.

8. San Jose (12-3): The Jaguars drop two spots in the rankings after suffering a loss since our last rankings were posted. San Jose dropped a road game against 3rd ranked San Francisco 93-61 ending the Jags five game winning streak. This season the Jags have put together a 4-3 record against teams that have a winning record and have a huge win over San Diego earlier this season. This week the Jags will face a top five opponent as San Jose will host 2nd ranked Chabot on Thursday for their lone game of the week before starting Coast South Conference action.

9. Columbia (12-2): The Jumpers move up two spots in our rankings after picking up a victory since our last rankings were released. Columbia picked up a 100-85 win over Contra Costa but the Claim Jumpers are 2-2 in their last four games. This season, Columbia has put together a 2-1 record against teams with winning record with both those victories coming against Cosumnes River. This week, Columbia has the week off and will be back in action on January 10th for their conference opener as the Claim Jumpers will host 5th ranked Sequoias in Sonora.

10. Merced (11-2): The Blue Devils drop two spots in our latest poll after suffering a loss in their last outing. Merced lost to unranked Canada on the road and the Blue Devils had their nine game winning streak snapped. This season, Merced has put together a 2-2 record against teams that have a winning record and have a victory against Skyline earlier this season. This week, the Blue Devils have their last non conference game as Merced will host 14th ranked Monterey later today in a battle between two ranked teams.

11. Las Positas (12-3): The Hawks move up two spots in our rankings since our last poll dropped after picking up a win. Las Positas picked up a 83-74 win over Solano and the Hawks have now won three straight games after losing two games in a row. This season the Hawks have a 1-1 record against teams that have a winning record with that lone win coming against Cosumnes River as the Hawks other 11 wins have come against teams below .500. This week, Las Positas will have one game as the Hawks will host Gavilan on Friday for their last non conference game of the year before Coast North Conference action starts.

12. Skyline (11-3): The Trojans remain in the same spot in our rankings after going 1-1 since our last rankings were posted. Skyline picked up a huge road win over West Hills Lemoore but suffered a loss against West Valley. This season the Trojans have posted a 3-3 record against teams that have a winning record and have a big victory over West Hills Lemoore. This week, the Trojans will be in action twice as Skyline will face Feather River at home on Wednesday and follow that up with a road game on Friday against 14th ranked Monterey.

13. West Hills Lemoore (10-3): The Golden Eagles drop three spots in the rankings following a 2-1 record since our last poll. West Hills Lemoore lost at home to Skyline but picked up two wins against Canada and San Mateo and the Golden Eagles have won four of their last five games. This season the Golden Eagles are 3-3 against teams that have a winning record and have a huge win against Citrus on the road. This week, West Hills Lemoore has the week off and will return to action January 10th when they host Porterville in their conference opener.

14. Monterey (11-3): The Lobos move up one spot in the rankings despite not having a game over the break. Monterey is on a two game losing streak and the Lobos have a 2-2 record against teams that have a winning record but have not beat a team inside of our week 7 rankings. This week, the Lobos will get their chance to beat a ranked opponent as Monterey will face 10th ranked Merced on the road tonight and follow that up with a home game against 12th ranked Skyline on Friday evening.

15. Cosumnes River (9-5): The Hawks enter our rankings for their first time this season after putting together two wins since our last poll. Cosumnes River picked up wins over American River and Modesto and have won four of their last five games. This season the Hawks have put together a 1-4 record against teams that have a winning record with that win coming against Los Medanos. This week the Hawks will face Sierra on the road on Wednesday and follow that up with a home game against Santa Rosa on Saturday.
