Pirates slip past Irvine Valley 62-57

In the night cap, Adrian McIntyre had 24 points and Anthony McIntyre added 19 points and 6 rebounds as 7th ranked Ventura (4-0) overcame a six point halftime deficit and snuck past 10th ranked Irvine Valley 62-57 on the road. Luc Krystkowiak had 17 points and 6 rebounds and Josh Walker added 13 points and 7 rebounds for the Lasers who missed 15 free throws in the loss for Irvine Valley (1-1).
In first round action at the Irvine Valley College Classic, Andrew Henderson had 15 points and Aaron Reyes added 14 points and 13 rebounds (6 offensive) as Canyons (3-0) upended 11th ranked Cerritos 71-67 to advance to the championship game tomorrow. Joshua Belvin had 21 points and Jaishon Forte added 12 points in the loss for Cerritos (2-1).
In tomorrow’s action, Ventura will face Canyons in the championship game and Irvine Valley will face Cerritos in the consolation championship game.
Bakersfield, CA – Bakersfield 91 West Hills-Lemoore 83
Tyrell Coleman had 23 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists and Tony Counts added 17 points and 11 rebounds as Bakersfield (2-0). Mack Tarver Jr. had 24 points and Camron Wilson added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for West Hills-Lemoore (1-1).
George Goto Classic at Sierra College
Jacob Rick scored 31 points and Kevin Hogue added 20 points as Feather River (3-1) picked up their third win of the season with a 84-73 win over Solano (1-2).
In the second game of the night, Sierra (1-0) won their season opener with a win over Shasta (2-2). Josiah Palumbo had 23 points and Samer Khalil added 18 points in the loss for the Knights.
San Jose, CA – Diablo Valley 69 (5) San Jose 68
Casey Cappo had 21 points and Aaryn Anderson added 13 points as Diablo Valley (1-2) opened up a big lead and held off a late rally by San Jose to pick up a 69-68 road win over 5th ranked San Jose (3-1).
American River Classic
Kody Bauman had 30 points as Siskiyous (1-3) picked up their first win of the season with a 85-69 win over De Anza (0-2).
In other action tournament host American River (2-2) cruised past Lassen 89-63 to move too .500. Darien Guyton had 20 points and Marcell Ireland added 14 points in the loss for Lassen (0-4).
Redwood City, CA – San Joaquin Delta 72 Canada 56
Nick Bell had 21 points and 8 rebounds and Vince Olmo added 14 points as San Joaquin Delta (2-2) picked up a 72-56 win over Canada (1-3). Jovan Jesus had 16 points in the loss for the Colts who have now lost three straight games.
