Skip Robinson Classic – Pasadena, CA

In first round action in Pasadena, Shaquil Bender scored 29 points and Jamal Edmondson added 18 points as Mt. San Antonio (3-1) won their third straight game and advanced to the semi finals with a 95-72 win over Antelope Valley (2-2). It was the second loss in a row for the Marauders who will play in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

In the second game of the day, Antoine Bloxton scored a game high of 31 points and Brandon Fredrick added 20 points and 7 assists as 10th ranked Los Angeles Southwest (5-0) won their fifth straight game of the season with a 100-70 win over Los Angeles Valley (0-3). Max Ralph had 18 points and 13 rebounds and Andre Parris added 16 points in the loss for the Monarchs. Los Angeles Southwest will face Mt. San Antonio in the semi finals at 5pm tomorrow and Los Angeles Valley will take on Antelope Valley tomorrow at 1pm.

In the third game of the tournament Los Angeles Pierce (2-2) won their second straight game and advanced to the semi finals with a 69-65 win over Glendale (3-4). Julian DeJesus had 12 points and Julian Dixon added 11 points in the loss for the Vaqueros.

In the last game of the first round, Barstow (2-3) advanced to the semi finals with a 88-80 win over tournament host Pasadena (0-6). Barstow will will face Los Angeles Pierce in the semi finals while tournament host Pasadena will face Glendale in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

Shasta College Invitational – Redding, CA

In day one action in Northern California, American River (4-2) won their third straight game with a 84-75 victory over 7th ranked Chabot (3-2).

In game two of the tournament, Shannon Ferguson had 17 points and Aaron Porcil added 17 points as 9th ranked Santa Rosa (2-2) won their second game in a row picking up a 71-57 win over Merritt (0-3). Eyoel Massay had 18 points for the Thunderbirds in the loss.

In the final game of the night, Austin James had 18 points and Brandon Harmon added 12 points as Cabrillo (2-3) picked up a 69-59 victory on the road over Shasta (3-3). Derek Gorden had a game high of 27 points in loss for the Knights.

Culver City, CA – (5) West Los Angeles 94 Palo Verde 82

5th ranked West Los Angeles (4-1) picked up a 93-82 win at home against a solid Palo Verde (4-2) team on Thursday evening.

Marysville, CA – (12) Yuba 84 Lassen 49

Jacob Henry had 16 points, 8 assists and 6 steals and Konner Baroni added 13 points and 7 rebounds as 12th ranked Yuba (2-3) won their second game in a row after dropping their first three with a 84-49 win over Lassen (0-6). Cole Rutherford had 12 points for the Cougars which lost for the sixth straight time to open the season.

Sonora, CA – (2) Columbia 90 Modesto 68

Isaiah Jones had 21 points and Deshawn Bartley added 18 points as 2nd ranked Columbia (5-0) continued to roll cruising past Modesto 90-68. Justin Powell had 21 points and Jo Okitukunda added 19 points in the loss for Modesto (0-5).

Los Altos Hills, CA – Diablo Valley 82 Foothill 71

Casey Cappo had 22 points and Tyler Brinkman added 17 points as Diablo Valley (2-2) won their second straight win with a 82-71 win over Foothill (0-4).
