Claim Jumpers win showdown in Visalia with victory over top ranked Ventura

COS Wyndham/Mannon Classic – Visalia, CA

In a battle of unbeaten teams, Tahj Malik-Campbell hit two free throws with 9 seconds left and 2nd ranked Columbia (11-0) won their 11th straight game and knocked top ranked Ventura from the unbeaten ranks with a 74-73 win in Visalia on Friday night. Tahj Malik-Campbell had 20 points and 12 rebounds and Isaiah Jones added 15 points for the Claim Jumpers in the win. Adrian McIntyre had 27 points and 12 rebounds and Anthony Garza added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for Ventura (12-1).

In the second game of the night, Ryan Johnson and Bryce Fitzgerald each scored 17 points and 3rd ranked Sequoias (9-2) used a big first half to cruise past Los Angeles Trade Tech 105-45. Dahmaj Warren had 14 points and Kaelin Petty added 11 points in the loss for Trade Tech (1-11).

Kris Kringle Tournament – Santa Rosa, CA

In the semi finals of the Kris Kringle Tournament, Aaron Porcil had 26 points and tyler McLean added 16 points as Santa Rosa (6-5) won their third straight game and knocked off 4th ranked Los Medanos 90-81 to advance to the championship game. Keenami Maggard had 21 points and Jason Holman added 16 points in the loss for Los Medanos (10-1).

In the other semi final game, Jacob Henry went off for 33 points and Jordan Bryant added 21 points as 12th ranked Yuba (6-5) advanced to the championship game with a 78-75 win over Mendocino (5-6). The 49ers will face Santa Rosa in the championship and Mendocino will take on Los Medanos in the 3rd place game.

In the consolation bracket, Drew Gillette scored 20 points and Jon Nchekwube added 17 points as 11th ranked Redwoods (9-3) picked up a 82-72 win over conference foe Feather River (3-8) to advance to the consolation championship game.

Timmy Yee scored 25 points and added 6 rebounds and Chris Bramah added 16 points and 5 rebounds as Foothill (3-9) advanced to the consolation championship game with a 90-71 win over Napa Valley (0-10). Cameron Joseph had 20 points and Ben Trette added 18 points in the loss for the Storm. Foothill will take on Redwoods tomorrow in the consolation championship and Napa will face Feather River in the 7th place game.

Tristan Hill Holiday Tournament – Stockton , CA

In the first semi final, Naseem Gaskin scored 27 points and Devan Sapp added 13 points as top ranked San Francisco (10-1) won their sixth straight game with a 81-77 win over Butte (8-7). Daniel Montoya had 18 points and Isaac Wood added 14 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

In the second semi final, John Wade had 17 points and 10 rebounds and Miles Lewis added 13 points and 8 assists as 10th ranked Contra Costa (8-1) won their fourth straight game and moved into the championship game with a 89-69 win over San Joaquin Delta (5-6). Vincent Olmo had 12 points in the loss for the Mustangs who will face Butte tomorrow in the 3rd place game. Meanwhile, Contra Costa will take on San Francisco in the championship game.

In other day two action in Stockton, Krei Kyncy had 23 points and Brandon Jackson added 12 points as Sierra (7-4) slipped past Merritt 52-49. Eyoel Massay had 12 points in the loss for Merritt (3-7).

In the 2nd consolation game of the day, Derek Gorden had 16 points and Tre Foster added 11 points as Shasta (6-9) advanced to the consolation championship game picking up a 62-59 victory over Merced (2-10). Shasta will face Sierra in the consolation championship and Merritt will face Merced in the 7th place game.

Saratoga, CA – Folsom Lake 95 Cuesta 65

Dane Johnson had 22 points and 13 rebounds and Cameron Wall added 18 points as Folsom Lake (6-5) won their third straight game with a 95-65 win over Cuesta (3-9). Juani Dassie had 12 points and three other Cougars scored in double figures in the loss for Cuesta.

Coach Carr Classic – San Jose, CA

In day 2 in San Jose, Tyler Biddison had 19 points and Aaron Garibay added 16 points as Hartnell (5-8) picked up a 74-61 win over Canada (2-9). Justin Slie had 19 points in the loss for the Colts.

In other action, Amari Stroud had 17 points and Matt Solomon added 15 points as Allan Hancock (7-5) scored a 73-64 win over De Anza (3-9).

In the final match up on day two, Mason Ryan had 18 points and Mison Coilton added 13 points as 7th ranked San Jose (12-2) rolled to their fifth win in a row with a 82-56 win over Siskiyous (6-9). Kody Bauman had 14 points in the loss for the Eagles.

Pacific Coast Conference

In Pacific Coast Athletic Conference action, Jontahn Ogugua had 15 points, Josh Williams added 12 points and four other Knights scored in double figures as 5th ranked San Diego (11-3, 2-0) used a huge 32-2 run to start the game and cruise to a 97-62 win over San Diego Mesa (5-3, 0-1). William Bailey had 17 points and Craig Jackson added 14 points in the loss for the Olympians in their conference opener.

In other conference action, Devynn Wakefield had 18 points and Julian Williams added 15 points as MiraCosta (5-7, 2-0) remained unbeaten in conference with a 65-61 win over Cuyamaca (3-8, 0-2).

Vincent Warren had 22 points and 6 rebounds and Calvin Payne added 16 points and 7 rebounds as Grossmont (3-9, 1-1) picked up their first conference win with a 71-67 win over Imperial Valley (0-11, 0-2). Tavontae Carruthers had 22 points and Shedrick Lockridge added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the loss.

13th ranked San Diego Miramar (7-3, 1-1) got 13 points from Jacob Doffing and 12 from Cameron Barry and evened out their conference record with a 56-53 victory over Southwestern (4-10, 1-1). Devin Hilliard had 15 points and Shawn Sanderlin added 12 points in the loss.

Orange Empire Conference

In a battle of two teams ranked inside of our top 10 in Southern California, Kobe Newton scored 18 points and Chazz Hutchison added 12 points and 4 rebounds as 2nd ranked Fullerton (12-1, 2-0) used a 2nd half surge to get by 10th ranked Irvine Valley 60-54. Luc Krystkowiak had 17 points and 9 rebounds and Aaron Strings added 12 points in the loss for Irvine Valley (7-4, 0-1).

In Orange, David Agba had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Drew Yezbak added 14 points as 4th ranked Santiago Canyon (12-1, 2-0) won their ninth straight game with a 84-70 win over Cypress (8-6, 0-2). Ramiah Adedigba had 24 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Chargers.

Atiba Taylor scored a game high of 23 points and Elijah Al-Debaran added 13 points as Saddleback (9-4, 2-0) won their fourth straight game with a 84-75 win over Golden West (4-7, 0-2). Maliq Neurell had 17 points and James Holmes added 12 points in the loss.

Emani Scott made six three pointers and had 22 points and 6 rebounds and Virgil Mahoney added 17 points and 6 rebounds as Antelope Valley (7-4) cruised to a 76-61 victory over Rio Hondo (1-14).
