Monterey Bay Classic – Monterey, CA

The Monterey Bay Classic gets underway today in Northern California for the next three days. Five teams from Northern California and three teams from Southern California will take part in the tournament. In first day action beginning at 1pm, Hartnell (2-5) will take on Foothill (1-4). The Panthers will look to end their two game losing streak against the Owls who won their first game last week over Reedley. In the 2nd game of the first round, Irvine Valley (3-3) will take a two game winning streak into the first round against Feather River (3-3). The Golden Eagles will look to end their two game losing streak against a solid team from Southern California.

In the bottom half of the bracket, 15th ranked Monterey (6-1) will take their five game winning streak into the first round against Santa Barbara (3-5). The Vaqueros will look to end their four game losing streak against a ranked team from Northern California. In the final game of the night, Diablo Valley (3-2) will take on Cypress (4-3). The Vikings have won three straight games and Cypress is coming off a huge comeback win over Long Beach as action will begin at 7pm.

Coach Tregs Classic – Eureka, CA

In the three day event, seven teams from Northern California and a junior college from Oregon will take part in the tournament. In day one action, Mendocino (2-3) will take on Shasta (4-4) in a match up of teams looking to get on track. Mendocino has had a slow start but all three losses the Eagles have came against ranked teams in Northern California. In the second game, Marin (2-5) will take their two game winning streak into the game and face Southwestern Oregon at 4pm. In the third game, West Hills-Coalinga (2-5) will take on 8th ranked Redwoods (5-1). Redwoods will look to pick up their second win in a row since losing against Los Medanos. In the finale of the night, Sierra (3-1) will face off against Lassen (0-8). The Cougars will look to pick up their first win of the season against a Wolverine team that has started the season winning three of their first four games.

Day 2: Shasta vs Marin, Southwestern Oregon vs West Hills-Coalinga, Lassen vs Mendocino, Sierra vs Redwoods

Day 3: Lassen vs Southwestern Oregon, Shasta vs West Hills-Coalinga, Mendocino vs Sierra, Marin vs Redwoods

Wild West Shootout – Culver City, CA

Eight teams from Southern California will take part in a three day event in Culver City as West Los Angeles host the event. In first round action, Los Angeles Valley (0-5) will look to pick up their first win of the season as the Monarchs will take on 11th ranked Los Angeles Southwest (6-1). The Cougars have started the season off fast and will look to advance to the 2nd round with a win over Los Angeles Valley. In the 2nd game of the tournament, 3rd ranked San Bernardino (5-2) will take their five game winning streak into the first round against Long Beach (2-4). The Vikings will look for their second win in a row over a ranked team as Long Beach beat Riverside in their last outing.

In the top half of the bracket, 5th ranked West Los Angeles (5-1) will take on Barstow (3-4). The Wildcats have been one of the top teams in Southern California and will take on an unranked Vikings team that will look to pick up a win against a ranked team in first round action. In the final game of the evening, Moorpark (3-6) will take on Compton (3-2) in a match up of unranked teams. Compton will look to pick up their second win in a row over a Raider team that has struggled to find consistency in the early season.

James Clark Classic – Sacramento, CA

Six teams from Northern California will take part in the James Clark Classic at a three day event in Sacramento. In day one action, 10th ranked Las Positas (6-1) will look to win their seventh game in a row as the Hawks will take on Fresno (3-3). The Rams have struggled to find consistency early in the season but picked up a huge win over Allan Hancock in their last outing. In the second game of the day, Reedley (2-5) will take on Sacramento (2-4) as both teams will look to get in track after slow starts. In the final game of the night, tournament host Cosumnes River (5-2) will look to win their third game in a row as the Hawks will take on Siskiyous (4-5). The Eagles have won three games in a row and will look to end the tournament host winning streak.
