In the game of the night and maybe of the regular season, Sean Newman had 29 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and sharp shooter Kobe Newton scored 22 points on seven shots as top ranked Fullerton (5-0) picked up a 105-102 overtime win over San Francisco in a foul plagued game in Central California on Thursday evening. Te’Jon Sawyer had 28 points and 5 rebounds and EJ Neal added 25 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for San Francisco (4-1).

In another tight matchup in central California, Karlos Zepeda had 12 points and Montell Shelton added 10 points and 5 rebounds as 14th ranked Cosumnes River (3-2) edged 15th ranked Gavilan 60-59 on Thursday afternoon. Jailen Daniel-Dalton had 15 points and Fabian Reichstadt added 12 points in the loss for Gavilan (3-2) which lost their second game in a row.

In the final game of the night, Koron Davis had 42 points and 10 rebounds and Randarius Jones added 18 points and 8 rebounds as Los Angeles Southwest (3-0) won their third straight game picking up a 83-80 win on the road over 2nd ranked Sequoias (4-1). Javohn Garcia had 40 points and 4 rebounds and Tyjean Burrell added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Giants.

Mendocino Invitational Tournament – Ukiah, CA

In 1st round action in Ukiah Jon Nchekwube had 18 points and Trey Neff added 15 points as 13th ranked Redwoods (7-0) won their seventh straight game and advanced to the semi finals with a 73-60 win over Sacramento (2-1). Andrew Ferrara-Jones had 15 points and Khyri Marshall added 12 points in the loss for the Panthers.

In other first round action, Jason Zimmer had 23 points and 5 rebounds and Ramon Bailey added 22 points as Los Medanos (2-2) crushed Feather River 88-58 on Thursday afternoon. Feather River moved to 0-6 with the loss. The Mustangs will face Redwoods in the semi finals and Feather River will take on Sacramento in consolation action.

Nathan Smothers had 19 points and Sterling Rivera added 12 points as Lassen (3-4) edged Mendocino (0-2) in overtime 88-86 in overtime. Jack Reardon had 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss for the Eagles.

In the finale of the night, Dylan Neufeld had 20 points and Braeden Watts added 14 points as Siskiyous (4-2) won their third straight game with a 73-72 win over West Hills Coalinga (2-1). Elisee Ehuie had 23 points and 10 rebounds and Khyree Reese added 18 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for the Falcons. Siskiyous will next take on Lassen in the semi finals and Mendocino and West Hills Coalinga will battle on the consolation side of the tournament.

In day one action in Pasadena, Gabino Ramirez had 21 points and Julian Dixon added 12 points as Glendale (4-2) won their third straight game with a 74-59 win over Los Angeles Pierce (0-3). Gio Dinnal had 11 poiints and Tyler Glisson added 10 points in the loss for the Brahmas.

In other action down south, Nick Hopkins had 12 points and 9 rebounds and Jay Milner added 11 points and 4 rebounds as Mt. San Antonio (2-2) slipped past Antelope Valley 60-54. Joshua Assiff had 14 points and Evan Scott-Alexander added 12 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for Antelope Valley (1-3).

Brandon Torimaru had 17 points and Jonathan Tchengang added 17 points and 10 rebounds as Pasadena (2-3) crushed Barstow 102-58 on Thursday evening. Rashawn Burrell Bonam had 14 points and Adrian Gonzalez Garcia added 12 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for Barstow (0-5).

Shasta Invitational – Susanville, CA

Shamir Cook had 16 points and DJ Leaks added 13 points as Merritt (2-1) won their second straight game and picked up a 90-87 win over American River (0-5).

Darius Best and Joe Rush each scored 22 points as 12th ranked Cabrillo (2-1) won their second straight game since losing their opener with a 85-83 win over Santa Rosa (0-4).

In the final game of the night, Jaiden Rivera had 17 points and David Hector added 15 points and 10 rebounds as 4th ranked Chabot (4-0) won their fourth straight game with a 76-66 win over Shasta (0-6).

San Mateo Classic – San Mateo, CA

In day one action, Jeremiah Dargan had 23 points and Elijah Mahi added 20 points as 8th ranked San Mateo (6-0) remained unbeaten with a 89-80 victory over Merced (2-3). Mike Teal had 35 points and Tyreon Payne added 17 points in the loss for the Blue Devils.

Sophomore guard Miles Lewis had 28 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Jakarri Lindsey added 15 points as 7th ranked Contra Costa (3-1) won their 2nd straight game with a 87-78 win over Foothill (2-1).

In the final game of the day in San Mateo, 8th ranked San Mateo (5-0) won their fifth straight game with a 67-66 win over Cuesta (2-3).
