Mendocino and Redwoods battle in top 15 showdown in Northern California to open season.
10th ranked Mendocino will open the season on the road and face 15th ranked College of the Redwoods in an early season battle between two teams ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball Northern California rankings. Mendocino which was not ranked in the associations rankings despite winning 21 games will face a tough challenge facing the Corsairs which were one game away from the Elite Eight in 2019-2020. Redwoods come into the season as one of the favorites in the Golden Valley Conference and will look to have a successful start to their 2021-2022 season at home.
In other action 12th ranked Irvine Valley will travel to El Cajon and face Cuyamaca in the Lasers season opener. The Lasers are one of five teams from Orange Empire Conference that are ranked in our Signal The Light Basketball Southern California pre season rankings.
13th ranked Allan Hancock will go on the road to the Central Valley and take on Porterville. Hancock will open up the season and face the Pirates who will look to upset the Bulldogs in their season opener.
