Rams blow out Huskies in showdown of top teams

San Francisco – (1) San Francisco 94 (3) East Los Angeles 65

In a showdown between two programs within the state, top ranked San Francisco (3-0) cruised to a 94-65 victory over 3rd ranked East Los Angeles (2-1). After a slow start and falling behind 9-0 to start the game, the Rams exploded back and took control of the foul plagued first half. Despite missing opportunities at the free throw line the Rams managed to open up a 14 point lead. East Los Angeles stayed in the game with multiple second chance points but still trailed at the half 44-35.

In the 2nd half, San Francisco exploded as the Rams went on a 20-0 run to start the 2nd half and never looked back. The Huskies finally scored their first points of the half with 16:20 to go as it was far too late. Wrenn Robinson scored 13 points and Naseem Gaskin added 12 points in the win. JT Langston had 18 points and Tyrelle Hunt had 11 points in the loss for the Huskies.

San Francisco – (7) Santa Rosa 83 (6) Yuba 78

Shannon Ferguson and Aaron Porcil each had 21 points as 7th ranked Santa Rosa (1-2) picked up their first win of the season edging 6th ranked Yuba 83-78 in day three action in San Francisco. Jacob Hebert had 21 points in the loss for Yuba (0-3).

Columbia Tip Off Tournament

In day two action in Sonora, Jalen Williams and Zarius Benson-Moore each had 14 points as Cerro Coso (2-0) picked up their second win in Northern California knocking off Folsom Lake 74-68. Pierce Rexford had 19 points and Tre Adams added 18 points for Folsom Lake (0-2) in the loss.

In the finale of the tournament,Isaiah Jones had 17 points and Mitch Prevost added 14 points as 2nd ranked Columbia (2-0) cruised to a 89-70 victory over Marin (0-3). Jordan Jackson had 15 points and Christopher Rendon added 13 points in the loss for the Mariners.
