Los Angeles Southwest takes down Fullerton on Fredericks three pointer

Fullerton Tournament – Fullerton, CA

Brandon Fredrick made seven three pointers, and came up with a late steal and made the game winning three pointer as 11th ranked Los Angeles Southwest (9-2) used a 16-4 run in the last seven minutes of the game to take down top ranked Fullerton 69-67 in first round action. Frederick scored 29 points and Karl Jones added 12 points and 12 rebounds in the win for the Cougars. Ronnie Stapp had 15 points and Gaven Ramirez added 13 points in the loss for Fullerton (8-1)

In other first round action, Bryce Fitzgerald scored a game high of 22 points and added 8 rebounds and Seth Dawson chipped in with 12 points as 5th ranked Sequoias (6-2) made the trip down south from Visalia and picked up a huge win over 4th ranked West Los Angeles 70-66. Justin Williams had 12 points and Roy Clarke added 11 points in the loss for West Los Angeles (8-2). Sequoias will face Los Angeles Southwest in the semi finals while West Los Angeles will take on Fullerton in the consolation bracket.

3rd ranked San Diego (8-2) advanced to the semi finals picking up a 72-61 win over 9th ranked Citrus (6-3). Makiah Morris had 16 points and 8 rebounds and Drew Cisse added 11 points, 11 rebounds and 7 blocks in the win for the Knights. Chris Chiles and Leonard Turner each had 12 points in the loss for the Owls.

In other action, Chijindu Egeonu had 16 points and 7 rebounds and Jozelle Carter added 14 points as Chaffey (4-5) used a big second half and a big defensive effort picking up a 55-47 win over Southwestern (3-7). The Panthers held Southwestern to 32% shooting for the game. Shawn Sanderlin had 13 points and DeChaun Key adde 11 points in the loss. Chaffey will take on 3rd ranked San Diego in the semi finals while Southwestern will face 9th ranked Citrus in the consolation side of the bracket.

AHF Tournament – Riverside, CA (Day 2)

In day two action in Riverside, Nick Bowden made six three pointers and scored a game high of 27 points and Jimuel Reyes added 12 points as Saddleback (6-4) held off a rally and picked up a 70-58 win over Copper Mountain (3-7). Mikah Blackwell had 23 points and 8 rebounds and Travion Jackson added 15 points in the loss for the Fightin Cacti.

In the second game of the day, Dezmond Washington had 17 points and Tyrelle Hunt added 15 points and 9 rebounds as 7th ranked East Los Angeles (8-2) used a big second half to pull away and crush 13th ranked Mt. San Jacinto 76-56 on Thursday evening. Anton Mozga had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Isaiah Skinner added 12 points in the loss for Mt. San Jacinto (5-4).

Tournament host Riverside (6-4) used a big 2nd half to pick up a 75-62 win over Cerritos (5-5). Robert Ayala had 21 points and Melvin Walker added 19 points in the win for the Tigers. Dorian Harris had 20 points and Juice Belvin added 10 points in the loss for the Falcons.

Santa Barbara Classic – Santa Barbara, CA

In first round action in Southern California, Anthony McIntyre had 21 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and Adrian McIntyre added 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists as 2nd ranked Ventura (10-0) won their tenth straight game with a 85-77 win over Long Beach (5-6). Bonard Johnson Jr. had 28 points and Khieem Williams added 16 points and 11 rebounds in the loss for the Vikings.

In other first round action, Tyrell Coleman had 23 points and 7 rebounds and Eloy Medina made five three pointers and added 17 points as Bakersfield (6-3) advanced to the semi finals with a 79-70 win over Oxnard (2-5). Chrys Jackson had 20 points and James Webster added 19 points and 12 rebounds in the loss for the Condors. Bakersfield will take on 2nd ranked Ventura tomorrow and Oxnard will face Long Beach in the consolation side of the bracket.

In a battle of winless teams, Maxx Hazely and Oleksandr Lut each scored 12 points as Los Angeles Valley (1-8) cruised to the semi finals with a 62-39 win over Pasadena (0-10). Devan Ford had 13 points in the loss for the Lancers.

In the final game of the night, D.J. Adams scored 23 points and Joziaha Winfrey added 18 points and 6 rebounds as Desert (1-7) won their first game of the season with a 81-75 win over tournament host Santa Barbara (4-8). Elijah Simpsomn had 16 points and Billy Whitting added 12 points in the loss for the Vaqueros. Desert will take on Los Angeles Valley in the semi finals and Santa Barbara will take on Pasadena.

Valencia, CA – Cypress 86 (10) Canyons 73

Freshman Trent Goldman scored 31 points and Tommie Flanagan and Ramiah Adedigba each added 17 points as Cypress (8-4) won their third straight game with a 86-73 road win over 10th ranked Canyons (6-3). Andrew Henderson had 24 points and King Miller added 12 points and 5 assists in the loss for the Cougars.

Redding, CA – Sierra 70 Shasta 67

Sierra (5-3) went on the road and hit a buzzer beating three pointer to pick up a 70-67 win over Shasta (5-7). Derek Gordon had 21 points and Simer Singh added 15 points in the loss for the Knights.

Oakland, CA – Merritt 76 Hartnell 66

Justin Boateng had 18 points and DJ Leaks added 14 points as Merritt (3-5) won their second straight game with a 76-66 win over Hartnell (4-7) at Laney College. Connor Brown had 33 points and Aaroun Garibay added 15 points in the loss for the Panthers.

Oroville, CA – Butte 100 Mendocino 80

Derrek Godron had 20 points and Tray Wilburn added 16 points as Butte (7-5) cruised past Mendocino 100-80 on Thursday evening. LJ Hallums had 18 points and Shafee Mumin added 15 points in the loss for Mendocino (4-5).

Modesto, CA – Modesto 68 Lassen 57

Justin Powell had 23 points as Modesto (2-7) picked up a 68-57 home win against Lassen (1-11).

Lemoore, CA – West Hills Lemoore 75 Cuesta 66

Milton Burnett scored 36 points and Camron Wilson added 22 points and 17 rebounds as West Hills Lemoore (5-4) used a big 2nd half to edge Cuesta 75-66 at home on Thursday evening. Darryl Brooks II had 16 points and Kobe Pearson added 12 points in the loss for Cuesta (3-7).

Fairfield, CA – Sacramento 90 Solano 87

Khyri Marshall had 21 points and Jake Paxton added 20 points and 5 assists as Sacramento (3-8) slipped past Solano 90-87. Jacob Ebert had 27 points and Jonathon Cobbs added 24 points in the loss for Solano (2-7).
