Week 6 Regular Season Northern California Signal The Light Basketball Rankings

  1. San Francisco (8-1): The Rams remain the top team in Northern California following two wins last week. San Francisco crushed Yuba 91-69 on the road and slipped past Santa Rosa 90-87 in another game on the road. This season the Rams have posted a 2-0 record against teams with winning records and are 4-0 against teams ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball week 6 rankings. This week the Rams will be in Stockton and participate at the Tristan Hill Holiday Tournament hosted by San Joaquin Delta and open up first round action against Sierra on Thursday.

2. Columbia (10-0): The Claim Jumpers stay put at number two in the rankings despite having the week off. Columbia has started the season off winning ten straight games and have posted a 4-0 record against teams that have a winning record and have a 2-0 record against teams ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball week six rankings. This upcoming week the Claim Jumpers will face top ranked Socal team Ventura in Visalia on Friday evening.

3. Sequoias (8-2): The Giants move up two spots in the rankings after winning three games in Southern California. Sequoias picked up wins over West Los Angeles, Los Angeles Southwest, and beat San Diego in the championship at the Fullerton Tournament. Sequoias has put together a 5-1 record against teams with winning records and have a 4-1 record against teams ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball rankings. This weekend, the Giants will host Los Angeles Trade Tech on Friday and follow that up with another home game against top ranked Ventura in Visalia on Saturday night.

4. Los Medanos (9-0): The Mustangs stay put at number four in the rankings after posting a win last week. Los Medanos picked up a 92-79 win over Skyline to remain undefeated and win their ninth straight game to start the season. This season, the Mustangs have posted a 4-0 record against teams with winning records and have a 1-0 record against teams within our Signal The Light Basketball rankings this season. This week, the Mustangs will look for their tenth straight win as Los Medanos will host Foothill on Thursday in their lone game of the week.

5. West Valley (10-2): The Vikings drop two spots in the rankings after going 1-1 last week. West Valley suffered a home loss against Las Positas but came back and picked up a victory over Alameda on the road. The Vikings have lost two of their last three games after winning their first nine to start the season. This season West Valley are 3-2 against teams that have winning records and are 3-2 against teams ranked within our week 6 Signal The Light Basketball rankings. This week, the Vikings will host Folsom Lake on Friday and follow that up with another home game against Lassen on Saturday in their two games this week.

6. San Mateo (9-2): The Bulldogs remain at number six after having the week off. San Mateo has won nine of eleven to start the season and have won three of their last four. San Mateo is 2-2 against teams that have a winning record and have a 1-2 record against teams within our week 6 rankings. This week, the Bulldogs will be in action one time as San Mateo travels to Central California and will face West Hills Coalinga on Saturday.

7. San Jose (10-2): The Jaguars remain put at number seven in the rankings after going 2-0 last week. San Jose picked up wins against Foothill and the Jaguars went on the road and knocked off Yuba 77-72. San Jose has put together three straight wins since losing to San Mateo and have a 2-1 record against teams that have a winning record. The Jaguars are 1-1 against teams that are ranked within our week 6 rankings and will have three games this upcoming week. San Jose will host the Coach Carr Classic and face Hancock on Thursday, face Siskiyous on Friday and follow that up with a game against Canada on Saturday for their last game of 2021.

8. Las Positas (11-1): The Hawks move up one spot in the rankings after posting two wins last week. Las Positas went on the road and knocked off West Valley and followed that up crushing Diablo Valley at home 93-63. The Hawks have won eleven straight games since losing their season opener and have a 1-1 record against teams that have winning records this season. Las Positas is 1-0 against teams that are ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball week 6 rankings. This week, the Hawks will be in action one time as Las Positas will host Marin on Friday night.

9. Chabot (5-3): The Gladiators move up one spot in the rankings after going 1-0 last week. Chabot returned to action after a long lay off and picked up a 92-83 win over Diablo Valley in their lone game last week. This season the Gladiators are 1-2 against teams that have a winning record and against ranked teams Chabot is 0-2 this season. Chabot will be in action twice this week as the Gladiators will host De Anza on Tuesday and follow that up with a road game against Reedley on Friday.

10. Contra Costa (6-1): The Comets move up one spot in the rankings despite not having a game last week. Contra Costa had their game against Sacramento postponed to a later date. This season, the Comets have a 3-0 record against teams that have a winning record and Contra Costa has not faced a team within our week six Signal The Light Basketball rankings this season. This week, Contra Costa will host Shasta on Thursday in their lone game of the week.

11. Redwoods (8-2): The Corsairs move up one spot in the rankings after winning two games last week. Redwoods made a long trip to the Central Valley and cruised to two wins picking up wins over Reedley and Merced last week. This season, Redwoods is 2-1 against teams that have a winning record and the Corsairs have a 0-1 record against teams that are ranked within our week six rankings. This week the Corsairs will take part in the Santa Rosa Tournament and face 12th ranked Yuba in first round action of the tournament.

12. Yuba (4-5): The 49ers drop four spots in the rankings after dropping two games last week. Yuba dropped a game to San Francisco for the 2nd time this season and then followed that up with a home loss against San Jose. Yuba has a 0-5 record against teams that have winning records and the 49ers are 0-4 against teams ranked within our Signal The Light Basketball week six rankings. This week, the 49ers will face another ranked team in first round action in Santa Rosa as Yuba will take on 11th ranked Redwoods on Thursday.

13. American River (6-3): The Beavers stay put at number 13, after having the week off. American River was supposed to face Feather River but the game was postponed. The Beavers are 1-2 against teams that have a winning record and American River is 1-2 against teams that are ranked within our week six rankings. This week, the Beavers will be in action one time on Wednesday on the road against Alameda.

14. Monterey (10-2): The Lobos remain at number fourteen following another two wins last week. Monterey needed overtime but slipped past Modesto and followed that up with a 63-51 victory over Lassen. The Lobs have started the season winning 10 of 12 and have been playing solid basketball as Monterey is 2-1 against teams that have a winning record. The Lobos are 1-1 against teams that are ranked this season. This week, Monterey will face Porterville on Wednesday at home and follow that up with a road game against Alameda on Friday.

15. Cosumnes River (8-3): The Hawks stay in the rankings in the same spot after posting a win last week. Cosumnes River slipped past West Hills Lemoore at home 82-77 in their lone game of the week. This season, the Hawks have a 1-2 record against teams that have a winning record and Cosumnes River is 0-1 against teams that are ranked within our rankings. This week, Cosumnes River will take on Solano on the road on Thursday in their lone game of the week.
