Visalia, CA – (2) Sequoias 79 (3) Columbia 65

Javohn Garcia had 18 points and 6 rebounds and Terri Miller added 14 points and 9 rebounds as 2nd ranked Sequoias (11-3, 1-0) won their conference home opener over 3rd ranked Columbia 79-65 in a battle between two top five teams within our Signal The Light Basketball rankings. Daniel Rico had 16 points in the loss for Columbia (12-3, 0-1).

Fresno, CA – (7) Fresno 89 Merced 75

Makani Whiteside had 22 points and Nash Wobrock added 14 points as 7th ranked Fresno (11-2, 1-0) won their conference opener with a 89-75 win over Merced (3-12, 0-1).

Porterville, CA – Porterville 73 West Hills Lemoore 52

Cam Walker and Julio Phipps each scored 12 points as Porterville (7-8, 1-0) cruised past West Hills Lemoore 73-52 in conference opening action in the Central valley. Keasean Bazlie had 14 points and Ryan Chavez added 11 points in the loss for West Hills Lemoore (7-8, 0-1).

Reedley, CA – Reedley 79 West Hills Coalinga 64

Obadiah Curtis had 30 points and Juelz Fox had 17 points as Reedley (7-8, 1-0) picked up a 79-64 win over West Hills Coalinga (6-9, 0-1).

Dominique Daniels scored late and had 38 points and Aaari Smith added 20 points and 8 rebounds as 4th ranked San Bernardino (12-3, 3-0) picked up a 73-71 win over 9th ranked Chaffey (11-4, 2-1). Brody Davis had 18 points and 7 rebounds and Miguel Robles added 11 points in the loss for the Panthers.

Dasean Stevens had 28 points and 16 rebounds and Cameron Durr added 19 points as 10th ranked Mt. San Jacinto (11-3, 3-0) picked up a 92-85 win over Palo Verde (3-11, 1-2) in conference action Wednesday night. Arthur Edwards had 22 points and Teren Smith added 16 points in the loss.

Marcus Watson had 28 points and Anthony McIntyre added 22 points as 6th ranked Ventura (13-4, 1-0) cruised in their conference opener blasting Oxnard 90-69 on Wednesday night. James Webster had 25 points and 15 rebounds and Ivan Barrocio added 12 points in the loss for Oxnard (4-10, 0-1).
