Flowers and Malcolm bring home POY in BVC

Caden Flowers and Devin Malcolm were named Co Players in the Bay Valley Conference over the weekend. Flowers who averaged 11.1 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.9 assists helped lead the 49ers to an undefeated conference record along with Devon Malcolm which averaged 14.3 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest this season. Both players are freshman and had sensational seasons for the 49ers who picked up a fourth seed going into the post season. Doug Cornelius was named coach of the year of the conference as he helped lead Yuba to a 26-2 overall record and 16-0 in conference play. Adegoke Adeyemi was named the Defensive Player of the Year in the conference as the sophomore averaged 7.7 points and 12.2 rebounds while leading the state in block shots averaging 3.8 blocks per game (104 on the season). The “6-5” sophomore helped lead the Mustangs to a second place finish and was a great piece for Los Medanos this past season moving into the post season.
