13th seeded Las Positas (19-11) went on the road and picked up a huge win against 4th seeded Yuba 79-76 to advance to the sweet 16. Devon Malcolm had 21 points and Cam Niles added 16 points in the loss for Yuba who ended their season with a 26-3 record. The win puts the Hawks into the sweet 16 as Las Positas will next face West Valley with a trip to the Elite Eight on the line. Both teams made the Elite Eight a season ago and it should be a very intriguing match up between the two Northern California powers.

Saratoga, CA – (5) West Valley 67 (12) Porterville 60

Elijah Mahi scored 35 points and Jeremiah Dargan added 22 points as 5th seeded West Valley (25-4) used a big second half to move into the sweet 16 with a 67-60 victory over 12th seeded Porterville (17-13). Julio Phipps had 18 points and Cam Walker added 15 points in the loss for the Pirates. The Vikings will next face 13th seeded Las Positas in the sweet 16 next Saturday night. The two teams met earlier this season on December 7th in Livermore as West Valley picked up a 94-89 overtime victory in the regular season.

Sonora, CA – (8) Columbia 65 (9) Contra Costa 54

Parker Tuttle had 25 points and Marques Sales added 12 points as 8th seeded Columbia (22-7) picked up a 65-54 win over 9th seeded Contra Costa (19-11). Kameron Robinson had 10 points and was the only Comet to score in double figures. Columbia will next face top seeded San Francisco on the road in the sweet 16 on Saturday.

San Francisco, CA – (1) San Francisco 99 (17) Butte 69

Mezziah Oakman had 22 points and CJ Hardy added 16 points as top seeded San Francisco (26-3) moved a step closer to the Elite Eight with a 99-69 victory over 17th seeded Butte (15-14) on Saturday evening. Ozzy Meadows had 16 points and Rolotae Knowles added 15 points in the loss for the Roadrunners. The Rams will next take on 8th seeded Columbia on Saturday night.

Visalia, CA – (3) Sequoias 90 (19) San Mateo 57

Terri Miller had 20 points, 15 rebounds and 6 assists and Javohn Garcia added 19 points as 3rd seeded Sequoias (26-3) won their 21st straight game and ran away with a round of 32 win cruising past 19th seeded San Mateo 90-57 in Visalia on Saturday night. Malik Merchant had 14 points and Tim Netane added 10 points in the loss for San Mateo (14-16). The Giants will next host 6th seeded Redwoods next Saturday with a trip to the elite eight on the line.

Eureka, CA – (6) Redwoods 76 (11) Cosumnes River 66

Jon Nchekwube had 20 points and Kai Purcell added 16 points as 6th seeded Redwoods (26-3) picked up a 76-66 home win over 11th seeded Cosumnes River (20-10) on Saturday evening. With the win, the Corsairs will next travel to Visalia and face 3rd seeded College of the Sequoias in the sweet 16 and a trip to Lemoore on the line.

San Jose, CA – (2) San Jose 79 (15) Fresno 76

2nd seeded picked up another win as the Jaguars edge closer to a spot in the Elite Eight as San Jose edged 15th seeded Fresno 79-76 on Saturday evening. Makani Whiteside had 18 points and Asrin Hackett added 16 points in the loss for Fresno. With the victory, San Jose will host 7th seeded Chabot in the sweet 16 for a place in Lemoore at the Elite Eight.

Hayward, CA – (7) Chabot 89 (10) Los Medanos 82

Jaiden Rivera made eight three pointers and had 33 points and 7 rebounds and Zach Broadous added 19 points and 6 rebounds as 7th seeded Chabot (21-8) won their 14th straight game and moved into the round of 16 with a 89-82 victory over 10th seeded Los Medanos (22-8) Devin Carson had 31 points and D’Montay Warner added 16 points in the loss for the Mustangs. 7th seeded Chabot will next face 2nd seeded San Jose for a second time this season as the Jags picked up a 85-82 win over Chabot on December 13th in San Jose.
