Sacramento remains unbeaten with 9th straight win

Modesto Tournament – Modesto, CA

In first round action in the first day in Modesto, AJ Fererra-Jones had 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Sid Duplessis added 18 points and 7 rebounds as 6th ranked Sacramento (9-0) won their ninth straight and remained unbeaten with a 103-66 victory over West Hills Coalinga (5-4). Devion Edwards had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Ahmadou Ah added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Falcons.

In other first round action, Tyreon Payne had 24 points and Yasir Rowell added 16 points as 11th ranked Merced (9-1) continued to roll picking up a 73-65 first round win over Lassen (4-12). Erin Chamble had 20 points and Brady Cooper had 14 points in the loss for the Cougars.

In other action, tournament host Modesto (3-7) got 18 points and 14 rebounds from Ethan Parker and Malik Taylor added 17 points as the Pirates picked up a 72-61 win over Shasta (1-10). Modesto will next face Merced in the semi finals and Lassen will take on Shasta in the consolation bracket of the tournament.

In the finale of the night, James Prescott had 21 points and Ja’Tarious Johnson added 16 points as Fresno (5-4) moved one game over .500 with a 82-68 win over Foothill (4-5). The Rams will next face 6th ranked Sacramento in the semi finals and Foothill will take on West Hills Coalinga in the consolation bracket.

Fullerton Tournament – Fullerton, CA

In first day action in Fullerton, CJ Hardy had 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Daniel Cooper made four three pointers and added 22 points as 6th ranked West Los Angeles (7-2) cruised to a 92-62 win over Southwestern (5-5). Ayden Lockett had 17 points and Derrien Carter-Hollinger added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Jaguars.

In the finale of the night, Ammound Anderson II had 20 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds and Jaden Byers added 20 points as 4th ranked Fullerton (7-2) picked up a huge 110-74 win over 12th ranked Los Angeles Southwest (6-3). Chidi Obichere had 22 points and King Sutton added 13 points in the loss for the Cougars.

Santa Barbara Tournament – Santa Barbara, CA

In first round action, Daniel Ortiz had 20 points and Jacob Mora added 19 points and 8 rebounds as Oxnard (1-6) picked up their first victory of the season and advanced to the semi finals with a 68-61 win over Long Beach (4-5). Kane Young had 13 points and Franklyn Chambers added 11 points in the loss for the Vikings.

In other action in the first round, Tyler Silva had 16 points and Elijah Williams had 15 points and 8 rebounds as Bakersfield (5-3) advanced to the semi finals with a 71-63 win over Feather River (3-8). TJ Steed had 19 points and 7 rebounds and Marquis Hall-Wagner added 14 points in the loss. Bakersfield will next face Oxnard in the semi finals and Feather River will take on Long Beach in the consolation bracket.

In the afternoon, David Coniglio had 18 points and 7 rebounds and William Pace added 15 points and 9 rebounds as tournament host Santa Barbara (3-8) picked up a 79-61 win over Desert (3-6). Jermayn Baxter had 18 points and 9 rebounds and Luke Mathis added 14 points in the loss for the Roadrunners.

In the final game of the first round, Christian Green had 24 points and 8 rebounds and Kenneth Brown added 15 points and 7 rebounds as 13th ranked Monterey (8-1) picked up a 80-54 win over Los Angeles Valley (2-4) to advance to the semi finals. Monterey will next face tournament host Santa Barbara in the semi finals and Los Angeles Valley will take on Desert in the consolation bracket.

Riverside Tournament Day 2 – Riverside, CA

Desean Stevens scored a game high of 36 points and Isiah Shirleey added 20 points and 7 rebounds as top ranked Mt. San Jacinto (10-0) won their tenth straight game with a 89-71 win over 11th ranked East Los Angeles (2-4). Daniel Michelini-Jackson had 17 points and 7 rebpuunds and Dylan Godfrey added 11 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for the Huskies.

In other action on day two, Jason Lee had 22 points and Chine Nwanevu added 14 points and 8 rebounds as San Bernardino (5-5) moved to .500 with a 73-55 victory over 9th ranked Saddleback (7-4). Charlie Stallings had 15 points and John McFadden added 12 points in the loss for the Bobcats.

In the last game of the evening, Caleb Gilbert had 25 points and Kai Johnson added 20 points and 5 rebounds as Ventura (5-7) picked up a 79-61 road win over Riverside (3-5). Tomi Adesiji had 21 points and Joseph Barnes added 15 points in the loss for the Tigers.
