Blue Devils win 9th straight

Modesto Tournament – Modesto, CA

Tyreon Payne scored 33 points and Yasir Rowell added 32 points as the back court combined for 65 points as 11th ranked Merced (11-1) won the Modesto Tournament with a 95-82 win over Fresno (6-5) for their 9th straight win.

In the 3rd place game, Money Lott had 24 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks, and Sid Duplessis added 21 points and 5 assists as 6th ranked Sacramento (10-1) won their tenth game of the season with a 107-92 win over Modesto (3-9) to bring home 3rd place.

In the consolation championship game, Alijah Washington scored 31 points and grabbed 8 rebounds and Kendall Winston added 29 points and 5 rebounds as Foothill (6-5) picked up a 83-74 win over Lassen (5-13). Erin Chamble had 27 points in a losing effort for the Cougars.

In the 7th place game, Ahmadou Aw had 34 points and 11 rebounds and Devion Edwards added 20 points and 17 rebounds as West Hills Coalinga (6-5) picked up a 82-74 win over Shasta (1-12).

Pleasant Hill, CA – Diablo Valley 75 (10) Las Positas 65

Cole Webster had 23 points and Marshawn Smith added 17 points as Diablo Valley (3-6) picked up a 75-65 victory over 10th ranked Las Positas (9-3).

Fullerton Tournament – Fullerton, CA

In the final day of the Fullerton Tournament, CJ Hardy had 18 points and 6 rebounds and Blake Lander added 18 points as 6th ranked West Los Angeles (9-2) won their sixth straight game with a 70-67 win over 2nd ranked San Diego (9-3). KJ Bradley had 28 points and 5 assists and Alex Crawford added 15 points and 14 rebounds in the loss for the Knights.

In the second game of the night, Godfrey Little made five three pointers and had 19 points and Shawn Woodson added 16 points and 5 rebounds as 4th ranked Fullerton (8-3) cruised to a 101-57 win over Southwestern (5-6). Derrien Carter-Hollinger had 16 points in the loss for the Jaguars.

Riverside Tournament – Riverside, CA

Jason Lee had 20 points and 7 assists and Michael Miller added 19 points and 7 steals as San Bernardino (6-5) won their third straight game with a 82-76 come from behind victory over Ventura (5-8). Caleb Gilbert had 19 points and 10 rebounds and Kai Johnson added 15 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Pirates.

In the second game of the day, Desean Stevens went off for 32 points and 7 rebounds, and Isiah Shirley added 19 points as top ranked Mt. San Jacinto (11-0) won their 11th straight to start the season with a 83-63 victory over 9th ranked Saddleback (7-5). John McFadden had 19 points and 17 rebounds and James Burries added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Bobcats.

In other action in Riverside, Estebann Mann had 21 points and 10 rebounds, and Daniel Michelini-Jackson added 13 points and 8 rebounds as 11th ranked East Los Angeles (3-4) snapped a two game losing streak with a 85-67 win over Riverside (3-6). Tomi Adesiji had 21 points and Shaquille Samuels added 15 points and 9 rebounds in the loss for the Tigers.

Santa Barbara Tournament – Santa Barbara, CA

In the championship of the Santa Barbara Tournament, Kenneth Brown scored 18 points and Malik Ross added 15 points and 6 assists as 13th ranked Monterey (10-1) edged Bakersfield 71-68. Tyler Silva had 18 points and 4 assists and Elijah Williams added 17 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for Bakersfield (6-4).

In the 3rd place game of the tournament, Ethan Boness had 15 points and 4 rebounds, and Truman Teuber added 12 points as Santa Barbara (4-9) took home 3rd place with a 63-61 win over Oxnard (1-8). Noah Del Rio Sanchez had 17 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds and Daniel Ortiz added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Condors.

In other action, Franklyn Chambers had 21 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds and Brandon Cerda added 19 points and 7 assists as Long Beach (6-5) picked up a 82-66 win over Desert (4-7). Isaiah Goad had 14 points and Jermayn Baxter added 12 points and 4 assists in the loss for the Roadrunners.

In the 7th place game, Derrick Monroe had 24 points and 6 rebounds and TJ Steed added 14 points as Feather River (4-9) picked up a 82-76 win over Los Angeles Valley (2-6). Yah Humphrey had 17 points and Andrew Angulo added 25 points and 6 rebounds in the loss for the Monarchs.

Reedley Tournament – Reedley, CA

In the championship game of the Reedley Tournament, Cosumnes River (7-4) picked up a 71-57 win over San Mateo (6-7).

In the 3rd place game, 3rd ranked Cerro Coso (9-2) snapped their two game losing streak with a 92-58 win over Reedley (4-7). Matt Ruegge made six three pointers and had 22 points and Jayden Abuyen added 10 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Tigers.

Victorville, CA – MiraCosta 86 Victor Valley 76

MiraCosta (4-4) moved to .500 with a 86-76 road win over Victor Valley (4-7).

San Bruno, CA – (14) Skyline 69 Siskiyous 61

Darrin Lum had 18 points and Aidan Carleson added 14 points as 14th ranked Skyline (9-2) picked up a 69-61 win over Siskiyous (5-8). Landon Ellis had 16 points and Nick Dore added 13 points in the loss for the Eagles.

Visalia, CA – (7) Sequoias 68 Butte 66

Jose Cuello had 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Jaden Haire added 12 points and 5 rebounds as 7th ranked Sequoias (8-2) slipped past Butte 68-66 on Saturday afternoon. Tanner Stephens had 18 points and Rashad Samuels added 10 points for Butte (5-7) in the loss.
