Alex Argandar had 24 points and 6 assists and Jaden Haire added 12 points and 7 rebounds as 5th ranked Sequoias (9-2) won their fifth straight game with a 71-68 home win over Cerritos (3-6). Everett May had 15 points and Taeo Thomas added 16 points in the loss for the Falcons.

Blythe, CA – (1) Mt. San Jacinto 79 Palo Verde 71

Isaiah Skinner had 23 points and Isiiah Shirley added 18 points as top ranked Mt. San Jacinto (12-0, 1-0) won their conference opener picking up a hard fought 79-71 road win over Palo Verde (8-5, 0-1). Jaylen Ayala had 18 points and 7 assists and Malik Russell added 14 points in the loss for the Pirates.

Tristan Hill Holiday Tournament – Stockton, CA

In first round action at San Joaquin Delta College, Shak Odenewu had 13 points and Jeremiah Dargan added 12 points as top ranked West Valley (11-0) won their eleventh straight game with a 90-44 win over Merritt (2-8). Will Comerford had a game high of 22 points in the losing effort for the Panthers.

In other first round action, Dayton Magana had 23 points and Dom Victor added 14 points as tournament host San Joaquin Delta (3-7) advanced to the semi finals with a 83-60 win over Shasta (1-13). The Mustangs will next face top ranked West Valley in the semi finals and Shasta will take on Merritt in the consolation bracket tomorrow.

In other action, Contra Costa (2-7) advanced to the semi finals with a 60-51 win over Sierra (2-8).

In the finale of the night, Ray John-Spears had 11 points and Mason Harris added 10 points as 3rd ranked San Francisco (9-2) cruised to a 70-53 win over Butte (5-9). Rashad Samuels had 12 points and was the only Roadrunner in double figures in the loss. San Francisco will next face Contra Costa in the semi finals and Butte will take on Sierra in the consolation bracket.

Kris Kringle Tournament – Santa Rosa, CA

In the first game of the tournament, Devan Minouei had 22 points and Demarreya Lewis-Cooper added 10 points and 6 rebounds as 8th ranked Yuba (8-2) advanced to the semi finals with a 84-73 victory over Copper Mountain (4-6). Luke George had 26 points and DJ Ralston added 22 points in the loss.

In other first round action, Jett Cheong had 23 points and Trey Neff added 16 points as Redwoods (9-5) won their eighth straight game with a 82-71 victory over Foothill (6-6). Alijah Washington had 16 points and 7 rebounds and Jaylin Leslie added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the loss for the Owls. Redwoods will next face Yuba in the semi finals while Foothill will take on Copper Mountain.

On the other side of the bracket, Dylan Swillis had 15 points and Myles Watkins added 14 points as Pasadena (5-4) moved one game over .500 with a 77-66 win over Mendocino (3-7). Ahmad Artis had 16 points and Nathan Behr added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the loss for the Eagles.

In the final game of the night, Chris Holley made four three pointers and had 26 points and Andrew Pengel added 12 points as 14th ranked Santa Rosa (7-3) picked up a 75-57 win over Feather River (4-10). Louis Griffin and Josh Carr each had 11 points in the loss for the Golden Eagles. Santa Rosa will next face Pasadena in the semi finals and Feather River will take on Mendocino.

In the first game of the day, Kenneth Brown had 20 points and 8 rebounds and Malik Ross added 14 points as 12th ranked Monterey (11-1) continues to play solid basketball and picked up a 70-61 win over Siskiyous (5-9). Dylan Neufeld had 21 points and Nick Dore added 13 points in the loss for the Eagles.

Tournament host and 6th ranked San Jose (10-2) won their tenth game of the season following a 61-52 win over Porterville (5-7). Malcolm Steadman had 14 points and Isaiah Saams-Hoy added 12 points in the win for the Jags. Akeives Shorts had 21 points and Mark Allen added 16 points in the loss for the Pirates.

In the final game of the night, 10th ranked Allan Hancock (7-4) picked up a 71-62 win over Ohlone (8-5).
