Signal The Light Basketball Northern California Week 2 Rankings (November 14-20)

1. San Francisco (4-0): The Rams stay put again at number one and it is obvious why after another standout week. San Francisco has dominated competition as the Rams crushed Shasta 112-38 and followed that up with 140-55 win over Feather River. The Rams have scored 100 or more in all four games this season and have beaten opponents by an average of 66 points per contest. This week, the Rams will have a couple of test as they will face top ranked Fullerton from Southern California on Thursday and follow that up with another game against 14th ranked Cosumnes River in Visalia on Friday.

2. Sequoias (4-0): The Giants stay at number two after putting together two wins last week. Sequoias picked up a 80-70 win over Cuesta and followed that up with a 74-64 win over Allan Hancock. Sequioas has won four straight to start the season and this week, the Giants will face LA Southwest on Thursday and then take on top ranked Fullerton on Friday at home.

3. Yuba (1-0): The 49ers stand in at number three following their lone win last week. Yuba started their season off with a 86-62 victory over San Joaquin Delta at home. This week, Yuba will be back in action at home against Butte on Tuesday at home in their lone game of the week.

4. Chabot (3-0): The Gladiators remain at number four after having the week off. Chabot has started the season with three straight wins and this week they will travel up north and play at the Shasta Invitational. Chabot will face Shasta on Thursday, Santa Rosa on Friday and end their week against Merritt on Saturday as they will be in action three times this week.

5. West Valley (4-0): The state runner ups continue to move up our Norcal rankings after picking up another win last week. West Valley has started the season off with four wins straight and knocked off a solid Fresno team at home 86-75 at home in their lone game last week. This week, the Vikings will be in action three times as West Valley will face Alameda at home on Tuesday, follow that up with a game against Merced on Thursday at the San Mateo Classic and then end their week facing Foothill on Friday.

6. Columbia (3-1): The ClaimpJumpers move up two spots in the rankings after winning on the road last week. Columbia went on the road and beat Cosumnes River 87-80 in their lone game last week. Columbia has now posted wins against Contra Costa and Cosumnes River along with Butte and have started the season winning three of four. This week, the ClaimJumpers will face Modesto on the road in their lone game of the week on Tuesday.

7. Contra Costa (2-1): The Comets had the week off and moved up two spots in the rankings after some slip ups above them. Contra Costa has started the season winning two of three so far, and will be in action two times this upcoming week. The Comets will face Foothill on Thursday at San Mateo and follow that up with a game against 8th ranked San Mateo on Friday.

8. San Mateo (4-0): The Bulldogs remain undefeated as they have started the season winning four straight to start 2022-2023. Last week San Mateo got past San Jose at home 69-64 in their lone game last week. This week, the Bulldogs will host Cuesta on Thursday and then take on 7th ranked Contra Costa on Friday in their second game of the week.

9. Las Positas (4-1): The Hawks drop two spots in the rankings after going 1-1 last week. Las Positas suffered a loss on the road against Modesto 68-67 after blowing a big first half lead but came back nice with a 76-62 victory over Lassen to end their week. The Hawks have now started the season winning four of their first five and will be in action one time this week as they will host Napa Valley on Friday.

10. Porterville (1-2): The Pirates drop five spots in the rankings after suffering two losses on the road. The Pirates have been road warriors to start the season playing their first three on the road but lost to Fullerton 72-62 and followed that up with a 61-54 loss against San Jose last week. Porterville will see their home floor this week as the Pirates will face Desert on Friday and follow that up with a game against 7th ranked West Los Angeles on Saturday.

11. Ohlone (4-0): The Renegades continue to roll and move up four spots as Ohlone has now won four straight to start the season. Last week, Ohlone hit the 100 point mark as the Renegades cruised to a 111-60 win over Solano in their home opener. It has been a great start for the Renegades and this week Ohlone will face Monterey on the road on Friday in their lone game of the week.

12. Cabrillo (1-1): The Seahwaks move up two spots in the rankings after posting their first win of the season. Cabrillo cruised to a 90-55 win over Napa Valley at home in their lone game of the week. The Seahawks will be in action three times this week at the Shasta Invitational. Cabrillo will take on Santa Rosa on Thursday, Merritt on Friday and end their week against American River on Saturday in back to back to back games this week.

13. Redwoods (6-0): The Corsairs have jumped into our rankings after putting together three wins last week and have now won six straight to start the season. Redwoods beat Santa Rosa 66-60, Mendocino 92-71 and ended their week with a 94-65 victory over Solano. This week, they will be at the Mendocino Tournament and face Sacramento in 1st round action on Thursday.

14. Cosumnes River (2-2): The Hawks drop four spots in the rankings after suffering a home loss this past week. Cosumnes River is now 2-2 on the season after losing to Columbia 87-80 at home last week. The Hawks have losses against Columbia and Contra Costa and will be tested this upcoming week at the COS Giant Classic. Cosumnes River will take on Gavilan on Thursday and follow that up with a game against San Francisco on Friday in Visalia.

15. Gavilan (3-1): The Rams enter our rankings for the first time this season after going 1-1 this past week. Gavilan has put up wins against Delta, Merced and Hancock but lost their last outing against Cuesta. Gavilan will take on 14th ranked Cosumnes River on Thursday and follow that up with a game against Los Angeles Southwest on Friday in Visalia at the COS Giant Classic.
