Compton moves to 2-0 with victory over Grossmont

Arvin Shirali made four three pointers and scored a team high of 14 points and A Al Najim Ashley added 12 points as Compton (2-0) moved to 2-0 with a 72-54 win at home against Grossmont. The Tartars outrebounded Grossmont 40 to 19 and shot 57% from the floor in the win. Vincent Warren scored 24 points and was the only Grossmont (0-1) player in double figures.

Ja’Rod Webb had 22 points and Andre Huddleston added 12 points as Cosumnes River (1-0) went on the road and picked up a 72-64 win over Gavilan (0-1) in the Rams home opener. Tahjae Ordonio had 18 points and Suheil Ibrahim added 17 points in the loss for the Rams.
